"In “The Easy Cuts Are Behind Us” (Op-Ed, Feb. 6), Jacob Lew, the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, spoke of the need to make difficult budget decisions, saying the federal budget is “an expression of our values and aspirations.”

We agree. We do, however, take exception to Mr. Lew’s proposal to significantly cut the Community Development Block Grant program, the most important federal investment to job creation and neighborhood revitalization in our communities."
