Letter in response to Fukushima nuclear disaster
On April 3, 2011 Mary Johnston of Michigan WAND wrote a letter to the editor of the Observer and Eccentric.
"The dire consequences of the Japanese disaster at the Fukushima nuclear plant are unfolding day by day and minute by minute. And yet there are still those who insist that nuclear power is a safe source of energy production. What will it take to convince them otherwise? It is dirty, dangerous and expensive and, in fact, now threatens the entire Earth's ecosystem. Already, radioactivity from Japan has reached the Northeastern U.S."
