Women. Power. Peace.

A message from WAND

The shooting last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT has devastated Connecticut families and communities, shocked the world, and deeply shaken us at WAND. As a peace organization that has worked for more than 30 years towards reducing violence through conflict resolution and peace-building, we are both saddened and angered by this atrocity. Our hearts are heavy for the families and we, too, mourn the tragic loss of innocent lives. But we must not let our profound frustration allow us to lose hope or give up our vital work. Let’s all move forward through this holiday season and into the New Year with a renewed sense of commitment, motivation and desire for a peaceful world.
