Women
of Faith: Take action for new directions
September
2008
We
hope you will take inspiration from your faith and
turn it into action for peace and justice.
Women of Faith
in Action Offerings: Presentations, Workshops, Opportunities
1. Join
the Faith List and receive our monthly
web column, Seeds of Change, which includes a theological
reflection on current events, an action opportunity,
and discussion questions for use in group settings.
2. Faith Seeking Peace facilitator trainings
introduce the FSP curriculum to participants and explore
concepts of facilitation integral to teaching the
Faith Seeking Peace curriculum in your community of
faith.
3. Budget Trainings
4. Annual Faith Seeking Peace training in
Washington DC takes place in the spring,
often in conjunction with Ecumenical Advocacy Days.
This training offers a time for national partner organizations
to learn more about our Faith in Action program and
resources, and to deepen our partner relationships.
5. WiLL/WAND National Conference Faith Track
will include a dinner focused on WAND’s Faith
in Action program, as well as workshop offerings that
explore the intersection of faith and politics.
6. Preaching and Speaking Engagements
are a forum through which we share WAND’s message
in faith communities, colleges, and universities across
the country.
7. Get Out the Vote! We urge communities
of faith to participate in non-partisan election activities,
such as registering, educating, and mobilizing voters.
Announce registration deadlines and voting dates in
your community of faith’s bulletin, vote early,
offer rides to the polls, volunteer as a poll watcher,
host candidate forums, and more!
Please contact Amanda at ahvoss@wand.org
to join the faith list, request a training or speaker
in your community, or learn more about the WiLL/WAND
national conference and get out the vote efforts.

Lobbying
Congress: with a little help from your friends
WAND is known as being reliable and relentless
on the issues we care about. Our lobbyists on
Capitol Hill are constantly looking for new ways
to rally the energies of many organizations. One
method is to organize letters to Congress with
many well known and respected signers. To read
