3D
Security Initiative
Policy Associate – Full Time
Washington DC
The 3D Security Initiative promotes conflict
prevention in US security policymaking and is
part of the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding,
Eastern Mennonite University
Responsibilities: Develop policy
briefs explaining the concept of civilian capacity
for conflict prevention, including the need
to fund the Civilian Reserve Corp, and other
models for government structuring of these programs;
Adapt 3D policy brief materials to Op Ed format,
identify partner organizations in key Congressional
districts, and distribute to strategic media
outlets in these districts; Reach out to targeted
constituencies to educate and involve them in
supporting appropriations for civilian capacity;
Direct the logistics for two large meetings
on civilian capacity in Washington DC; Maintain
direct relationships with all relevant organizations
involved in advocating for conflict prevention.
Requirements: Education: MA
in public policy, conflict resolution, international
relations, or related field. Experience: Congressional
“Hill” experience strongly desired

Physicians
for Social Responsibility (PSR)
Student Program Coordinator/Executive Assistant
This
position fulfills two distinct roles in the
organization: (1) serves as the principal staff
person assisting in the management of the PSR
student program (SPSR), and (2) provides administrative
and programmatic support to the Executive Director
(ED).
Student
Program Coordinator Responsibilities:
•
Work with volunteer student representatives
to service ongoing programmatic and structural
needs of student chapters across the country.
• Work with Field Director to ensure that
PSR programmatic initiatives are conveyed to
and carried out within student chapters.
• Serve as editor and maintain SPSR quarterly
newsletter and SPSR web site.
• Coordinate with and assist in fund-raising,
development, and membership efforts as needed
to build PSR medical campus activities.
Executive
Assistant Responsibilities:
•
Maintain schedule and arrangements, screen phone
calls, mail, and email for ED.
• Compose and prepare correspondence and
conduct research and writing projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors
degree, experience in organizing or in one
of PSR’s mission areas: nuclear disarmament,
global warming, public health. Experience
in advocacy, communications, or fundraising
is a plus.
- Excellent
writing and research skills
- Strong
administrative skills, organized, experience
with databases, scheduling, tracking complex
office flow. Attention to detail.
- Dedicated
worker, evidence of commitment to the mission
and goals of PSR
- Energetic,
friendly, sense of humor, excellent interpersonal
skills, ability to work easily with diverse
groups.
