ORGANIZE LETTER WRITING GROUPS IN YOUR AREA.
WAND calls these the Circle of Scribes. Three to five
people rotating to produce a letter-to-the-editor per
day could ensure that alternative views on war be seen
consistently in newspapers across the country. And,
when letters are published, lawmakers see them as well.
Consider organizing a Circle in your chapter or in your
community. Collect letters as they're published, and
please fax them to WAND at 404 524 7593!!! (Be sure
to include name of publication and date it was published.)
8.
WEAR A BLACK AND YELLOW ARM BAND.
Students across the country are wearing black arm bands
to denote mourning. Add a yellow stripe to indicate
your concern that American troops arrive home safely,
while still showing that you mourn ALL loss of life
in this war.
9.
WEAR A BLUE RIBBON FOR PEACE.
Check out WAND's website for details. Wear a light blue
ribbon for the UN and for peace.
