Here's a factoid about Mother's Day: It's the biggest gift-giving day of the year after the Big One (you know, Christmas). That's cool, we guess. But it's an awful lot of money going to, well, big box stores and florists. $14 billion, to be exact. Wouldn't it be nice if all that money went to some deserving nonprofit organizations instead? Say, nonprofits that work for peace, women, and power every day of the year?
