WAND Launches 3-year
Capacity-Building Campaign

Help Us Match a $50,000 Challenge Grant!

By: Deborah Walden

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, WAND is working to match a 3-year, $50,000-a-year challenge grant. Your gift of $5,000, $1,000, or $500 will help WAND reach the $50,000 mark by December 31. As part of WAND’s 3-year capacity-building campaign, these gifts will be used to enhance our organizational effectiveness by allowing us to invest in technology upgrades, media outreach, and improved field coordination. Double your money by helping match the challenge grant, and earn great returns on your investment in WAND!

“The future will not belong to those who are content with the present. The future…will not belong to cynics and people who stand on the sidelines. The future will belong to people who have passion and are willing to work hard to make our country better.”
—The late Paul Wellstone, U.S. Senator from Minnesota, in a January 1999 speech

WAND - NOW More Than Ever

Because our society is hurting and our government is turning the other way…
Because our role in the world needs to be a more conciliatory one…
Because war is not the answer…
…Now more than ever, WAND needs your support.

Your generous year-end, tax-deductible contributions will help WAND lead our country in new directions:

  • WAND and WiLL members in the 107th Congress spoke out— and VOTED—against war.

  • WiLL members voice their concerns to members of Congress, and plan to be members of Congress one day.

  • WAND activists and partner organizations take action in key districts, working with WiLL members and members of Congress.

  • STAND members form the next generation of peace activists and arms control experts.

The world needs WAND, and WAND needs you! Please help support WAND’s important work by donating today (see membership page). We appreciate your contribution and all that you do to help us make the world a better place.

WAND Wants You!

By: Diane Dolan

Following the November 5 elections, and with the United States on the verge of war in Iraq, mobilizing individuals and activating communities is increasingly important.

WAND chapters are doing their part by launching creative and vigorous membership drives. Every fall, chapters have the opportunity to participate in Membership Month, a campaign to build WAND’s strength through numbers.

During September and October, chapters recruit new members through community networking and informative, invitational mailings. Some chapters host special events and educational meetings to broadcast WAND’s message.

A special thanks goes to the ten participating chapters and the leaders and members who work hard to make women’s voices heard!

Now is a great time to join WAND, or to recruit others if you are already a member. Launch your own membership campaign by inviting family members, friends, and co-workers to join WAND, or consider giving gift memberships this holiday season.

More than ever, WAND needs your support to lead our nation toward a secure future!

You don't have to be part of a chapter to make a difference— every membership is important.
