New Beginnings

Atlanta WAND member Lucinda Bunnen was honored at WAND’s biennial meeting and new office opening celebration with a ploughshare sculpture. Atlanta WAND member Kent Leslie, a blacksmith/artist, designed and created the lawn sculpture from a real farm plough point. Welded to an iron pole, this extraordinary gift is a symbol of the Biblical vision of "beating swords into ploughshares." (Isaiah 2:4) Lucinda was applauded for her financial leadership, which made the new office a reality.

WAND, WiLL, STAND and WAND Partners, the membership core for WAND, now have a new home in Atlanta. Collaborating with Atlanta WAND, the national organization followed Lucinda Bunnen’s lead and raised the money for one office to house chapter and national staff.

The October splash featured WAND’s biennial membership meeting, at which new board members were sworn in, donors to the office were presented, and STAND (Students’ Action for New Directions) was highlighted.
