Salem, Oregon:
First STAND Chapter

Salem STAND Co-founders (left to right): Lisa Breitenstein, Jocelyn Thomas, Chani Geigle-Teller, Mary Lahti, Jennifer Ellsworth, Crystal Hall, Carly Tilgner and Trina Worthing

Nine active young women from Salem, Oregon decided to form the first official chapter of STAND at a meeting with WAND Field Director Bobbie Wrenn Banks at a local coffee house. Four are of high school age and the other five are in college. All girls on board so far are involved in other local and national peace groups and are really excited about the new idea of having their own support group. A weekend sleep-over is being planned to discuss our interests and goals and to set a plan of action. Salem STAND will work with local WAND Partner, Oregon PeaceWorks, and its youth group, the Youth Collaboration Project, not to mention STAND members nation-wide. We will be sure to keep you updated as things start happening...and you can be sure they will!

Peace & Solidarity,
Chani Geigle-Teller
Salem STAND Co-founder
