WAND Women
Speakers' Bureau

A service of
Women’s Action for New Directions Education Fund

Why the Bureau?

As women, at this time, in this country, we often find ourselves baffled and alienated. We look around, and find the state of things to be topsy turvy: schools are crumbling while the nuclear arsenal is being rebuilt; local fire departments are struggling to stay outfitted while the federal government sends out tax rebates like greeting cards.

It doesn’t make sense.

And so, we’ve come together. To articulate what we stand for, to define our national identity, and to clarify what we value as citizens. Together, we will weave the fabric of America.

And we want to encourage other citizens to join us in this effort. We want to help engage everyone in this vital dialogue: where do we want our country to go?

So we have formed the WAND Women Speakers’ Bureau. We’ve brought together an exciting and diverse group of female leaders. Articulate, lively — and determined to spark the debate about our government’s spending priorities. These women have already made real and lasting contributions to the world around us; now they’re ready to share their insights and open the debate.

We invite you to join in this effort! We hope you can host an event where one of the speakers could present; to listen, learn, and share your opinions; to help wake up your communities.

Most speakers ask for no honorarium, but do request a contribution to WAND Education Fund. Most are able to travel to other locations, but request that travel expenses be covered (including food and lodging).
