About STAND


The young women of STAND at the 2007 WAND/WiLL National Conference take a moment to pose with Jane Fonda.

STAND is a program of WAND, for young women and girls, created by 12 high school students at the WiLL/WAND National Conference in Washington, DC in September 1999.

STAND's mission is to empower young women to act politically, encouraging them to vote and connect with legislators across the country, to promote peace, equality, and progressive social change. STAND offers a community of active young leaders, united in their commitment to peace and justice.
