Young
women united in the commitment to peace and justice
May
2008: WAND, like many organizations in the progressive
community, has a firm commitment to organizing and
mentoring young women from all walks of life. However,
also like many other groups, we strive to accomplish
all we can with very limited means.
At
the beginning of 2008, WAND was compelled to pull
back from staffing the STAND program. If you're interested
in learning more about our offerings for young women
-- or in starting a STAND chapter -- please get in
touch! Thanks. Email field@wand.org

Let's
make our own dang pie!
WAND is launching the "Great American Pie
Campaign" this election year, to spread the
word:
Federal
budget priorities favor militarism and war.
We might be coming to your town! Check
it out. |

What
a great conference!
We
called it "Women at the Table of
Power." And boy, did it ever live
up to its name. Women from all walks of life,
pulling up their seats to the tables of power
all over the country. Left: Dr.
Beverly Tatum, president of Spelman College;
Jane Fonda, actress and activist; Jo Roberson
Edwards; Sen. Nan Grogan Orrock, president of

is cool but the struggle is better..."
The
Indigo
Girls happen to make great organizers
as well as great musicians. They keep their
site updated with actions and links -- including
one to the WAND web site. Visit their site and
let them know you appreciate their support!
