Webinar: Men Rule
On October 11, 2012, WAND proudly presented...
“Men Rule”
Based on the media buzz for the past few years around women politicians from Hillary Clinton to “Mama Grizzlies,” it might sound like women are making strides in getting elected to office. In fact, in 2010, the number of women serving in office dropped for the first time in a generation! Meanwhile, in 2011 and 2012 it was clearer than ever why we need women’s voices and perspectives at every level of our government. Why are women choosing not to run and what can we do to reverse this trend?
Featuring American University Associate Professor of Government and co-author of the “Men Rule” report Jennifer Lawless, this webinar examined why the number of women in politics remains disproportionately low, even though they perform just as well as their male counterparts when running for office.
