WAND empowers women to act politically to reduce
violence and militarism, and redirect excessive military resources
toward unmet human and environmental needs.
Give
birth again
To the dream...
Here on the pulse of this new day
You may have the grace to look up and out
And into your sister's eyes, into
Your brother's face, your country
And say simply
Very simply
With hope
Good morning.

Dear
Friend,
While
we end this year at war on two fronts, with circulating
rumors of more, I have hope. More and more people
are clamoring for peace. I am proud to work for WAND
-- and with all of you, whose passion and zeal thoroughly
embrace the positive.
Women
are stepping up and taking their seats at the tables
of power where vital decisions about our world are
made. It's a time of possibility for all of us --
for WAND, for women, for peace.
Thank
YOU for all your help in building our organization
and for being a part of a future filled with promise
and hope.
In
peace, Susan
WAND's
good friend and artist Edie Allen created this
image for us in 2007 -- after the national conference
in Washington, DC. She says she was inspired
by all the women from so many communities gathering
together to work for peace.
