Nuclear
Posture Review Released Tuesday, April 6th
Early press reports and analysis
indicate that there are some positive policy developments
in the NPR, but it is also disappointing to many that
the NPR did not go further in reducing the roles of
nuclear weapons in U.S.
Here is what people are saying:
"The release this week of the long awaited
road map for U.S. weapons policy was met by some cheers
for its commitment to reductions. But a close read reveals
that oversight of the government's spending must remain
on high alert." -Taxpayers
for Common Sense
"The U.S. Defense Department's long awaited
Nuclear Posture Review endorses three different approaches
to modernizing aging warheads, but the politically cautious
path it attempts to carve could still prove controversial."-Global
Security Newswire
