The
truth: Veterans' benefits are being short-changed
by this administration.
Get the facts on veterans' medical benefits
in your state.
Veterans
who have served their country nobly deserve to
be treated nobly in return. They should be able
to obtain adequate medical care at any time.
Right
now, the ranks of veterans is growing daily;
to date, 4,000 soldiers have been wounded in
the Iraq war. At the same time, the administration
is pouring money into the war in Iraq -- the
amount is up to over $150 billion.
You
would think that the administration would be
sending adequate resources to the needs of all
men and women who have served our country over
the years.
In
fact, the opposite is true: the current administration
is trying to balance the budget on the backs
of veterans of all ages. The administration
has proposed $29.8 billion for veterans' benefits
-- far short of the $33.6 billion recommended
by national veterans' organizations.
What
this means on a state level is that state health
budgets will be strained, and veterans will
receive inadequate care.
