Kudos to our own Laura Boyd

WiLL national field director Laura Boyd named one of Oklahoma's "50 women making a difference" by Journal Record

July 7, 2006, Oklahoma City

WAND and WiLL send hearty congratulations to our own Laura Boyd, recently named one of "50 Making a Difference" in Oklahoma.

"Laura really is a shining star," says WAND executive director Susan Shaer. "We've known this for some time, and we're happy others recognize it as well! Not only is she intelligent and dedicated, she speaks from the heart and really touches people. We're so glad to see her on this list of other great women leaders."

Journal Record (Oklahoma) names ‘50 Making a Difference’

OKLAHOMA CITY – The 50 women selected for The Journal Record’s “50 Making a Difference” this year include several from the health care and legal industries as well as civic volunteers, entrepreneurs and even a funeral director just to name a few...

The Journal Record Woman of the Year awards gala, now in its 26th year, recognizes Oklahoma’s female business and community leaders. Each year hundreds of nominations are received from across the state for the award. The 50 finalists are honored at the event and in the publication Fifty Making a Difference.

“The Journal Record’s Woman of the Year program allows us the opportunity to honor and recognize women from across Oklahoma who exemplify what it takes to make a difference,” said Mary Mélon, publisher of The Journal Record. “Not only do our honorees hold leadership positions in their professions, they also contribute a great deal to their communities. This year’s 50 Making a Difference are an amazing group of women that truly make a difference in our state.”
