Rep. Ammons is a Women Legislators’ Lobby (WiLL) State Director and avid supporter of Sole Authority and No First Use. On top of introducing the resolution in the 2018 session, she also organized a panel in the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center titled “The Role of Women in Stopping the Threat of Nuclear War” on February 10, 2018. Rep. Ammons was the recipient of the WiLL Pacesetter award at our national conference in 2017 for her dedication to sound progressive policy. In 2018, Representative Carol Ammons introduced HR 0877, but it did not make it to a vote in the House.
