A Special Message from WAND Interim Executive Director Nancy Parrish

Dear friends, colleagues, and allies,

As we savor the Thanksgiving holiday and the joy of traditions shared with family and friends, the staff of WAND and WiLL want to reach out and let you know how thankful we are for you.

Your support of WAND this year – whether you signed a petition, wrote to your members of Congress, shared and reposted our alerts on social media, contributed financially, or all of the above – has resulted in greater recognition of women's leadership and legislative action on nuclear weapons, the pentagon budget, and war.

While we reflect on our gratitude this week, we want to share a few words from each of the hardworking women who fight each day to fulfill WAND's mission:

"I am thankful for the opportunities I've had to learn about pressing issues in our world and work alongside such strong and inspiring women who are driven to make a positive change."

- Anne Armstrong, Operations Coordinator

"I am thankful for all the women who take risks, put themselves out there, overcome obstacles, and persist through unimaginable circumstances, to fight for the justice we ALL deserve."

- Corey Greer, Conference Coordinator

"I'm grateful for good health and 24 beautiful grandchildren."

- Senator Sandy Pappas, WiLL Vice-President

"I am most thankful for the truly awesome young adults in my life. It brings me so much joy to see both my own kids and the others that I’ve collected along the way growing into interesting, thoughtful and caring people as they step out into the world."

- Nancy Parrish, Interim Executive Director

"This Thanksgiving, I'm grateful for community: for family and friends, as well as anyone who marched in the streets, demonstrated at an airport, signed petitions, called Congress, or were moved to run for office this year to ensure peace and justice in our communities and around the world."

- Kristina Romines, Field Director

"I'm thankful for the opportunity to connect with a network of women leaders in our country who are leading the way towards a more peaceful planet."

- Samantha Blake, WiLL Program Manager

"I'm Thankful for the journey God has ordained in my life and for the friends I have made along the way."

- Phyllis Richardson, WiLL Program Associate

"I'm grateful for my brave, kind, and smart daughter who inspires me to bring my best efforts for a better world."

- Kathy Robinson, Senior Policy Director

"I am joyfully awaiting the birth of my first grandchild, a little girl. I am grateful that she can walk a path blazed by countless women who have broken barriers and fought for change and a better world. Women who prevailed in recent elections by voting, running, and winning continue the tradition of bold women change makers. Savor these victories and fight on! Happy Thanksgiving!"

- Senator Nan Grogan Orrock, WiLL President

We could not do what we do without each and every one of you and for that we are very thankful!

Nancy Parrish
