WAND promotes a pro-peace, pro-diplomacy approach to pursuing an end to the Korean War

In response to a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, this joint letter to the Subcommittee on Asia promotes a pro-peace, pro-diplomacy approach to US-ROK relations. Pursuing an end to the Korean war would have positive ramifications on U.S. national security and global stability. WAND encourages members to consider abandoning a military solution in favor of a diplomatic and peaceful one. We urge the U.S. to promote peace in order to move forward on de-nuclearization, increasing access and respect for human rights, and reducing isolation. Without a formal end to the Korean War, trust-building efforts are strained and attempts at de-nuclearization are fraught.
