Support for Merkley-Warren amendment to use B83 money for global vaccines

We support Senator Merkley’s amendment to the FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Senate Amendment 4069 to Senate Amendment 3867, that reallocates funding for the B83 gravity bomb life extension to support global vaccine production capacity.

Continuing to pour money into excessive and unnecessary weapons of mass destruction is a gross misuse of funds, especially in comparison to investments in human life. It is imperative to increase vaccine production and distribution worldwide, and redirecting funding from defunct weapons systems is an ideal source of revenue to finance vaccination efforts.
